Jeff Polly, Toby Cox, Jim Hagert, Krent Townsend & Jeff Williams - McCook, NE

Jeff Polly, Toby Cox, Jim Hagert, Krent Townsend & Jeff Williams were awarded for their actions on July 14, 2005. Polly and Cox grabbed the drooping landing gear of a Cessna Centurion 210 plane from a pickup speeding 90 miles an hour down a runway at McCook Regional Airport, preventing an emergency landing that could have been a disaster. Piloting the plane was experienced pilot Hagert; his passenger is aviation mechanic Townsend. Driving the pickup was race car driver Jeff Williams.

Daryl Schrunk-Atkinson, NE

Quick thinking and quick action using the Heimlich maneuver learned during CPR training by former Atkinson Elementary-Junior High Principal Daryl Schrunk earned him the Hero Award from the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association.

Bridget Brockman-Burwell, NE

Bridget received a HERO Award for calliing for help when she found her sister Brittany Brockman laying unconscious on the floor.
